Recently, after returning from overseas, I received this letter via email from our travel insurers, Southern Cross.

 

“Hi Graham,

 

We hope you had a good trip and safe journey home.  If the unexpected happened while you were away, it's easy to submit a claim with us online. You will need your policy number 12138515, and a New Zealand bank account number.   Click here to get started.

 

If you need help with making a claim, just reply to this email or call us on 0800 800 571 Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm.

 

If you're stuck overseas and need help, you can contact our emergency assistance team 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on: +64 9 359 1600.

What a great letter.  Simple things have the best impact, made even better by making it easy to make a claim if relevant – and believe me, whenever we have made a claim it has been attended to with ample proficiency.

 

Definitely an opportunity found which has further cemented the relationship with our insurers.
