Simple questions can put money in your pocket

Recently I called in at a service station to purchase $20 of petrol.  Why $20?  Because I had a 6 cents per litre voucher that I wanted to utilise somewhere else - but I needed petrol to make sure I got there.  When I went to pay, the owner of the business was at the till, and he asked me a simple question.

"Did you know", he said, "that if you buy $40 worth and you have one of these cards, then you would get at least 6 cents a litre at any Caltex station?"  I didn't know that, and as a result of that conversation, I have now got the card in question.

Isn't it simple to ask a non threatening question that will help you to create more customers?  There is no doubt that I will be back at the Oakleigh Service Station, because not only does it suit me better, I will be getting the same deal as I was getting elsewhere.  And what does it mean to the owner of the business?  More dollars in the bank for Christmas.

So have a think about what you can do, or say to your customers or clients which will entice them to come back to you again, and again, and again.  It's not hard, and it could mean that you have a better Christmas than your competitors.

Ho! Ho! Ho!
